I heard on the radio today that Kim Cattrall confirmed there will be a sequel to the Sex & the City movie, hurrah!!! Not only is it an interesting reflection on dating and related triumphs and tribulations and just plain fun to watch, but it's also such a lovely excuse for a girls night out complete with pre-movie martinis and dressing to the nines. Heck, even my mom is hooked! The best is when she started talking about the characters like they were her friends. My dad listened until he realized she was talking about fictional TV characters, oh that was funny to watch his realization/reaction.
I read on CNN's Science blog that to address squirrel overpopulation issues at a university in California, they are going to administer squirrel contraception via vaccine for sir and lady squirrels. Part of the headline was "Squirrels Gone Wild!" which made me laugh. In all seriousness, though, if this finds success there are implications for other animals to benefit from it. The article mentioned deer, animals that I also love. People justify hunting deer because of overpopulation problems but this alternative seems far better to me than the current "remedy."
